Sex and Violence in Media

Sex and Violence in Media

In our current society, our forms of entertainment are vast and caters many audiences. However, some delivers entertainment through uncensored scenes like:
  • Showing Live organs, Blood, etc.
  • Showing Deaths (Animal or Human)
  • Showing Alchohol, Tobacco Products
  • Naked People
  • Sex Scenes
  • Saying Bad Words

Although this makes the scene seem more realistic, to some people, they cannot handle the extreme violence that some of these are shown. That's why there are the ratings so that people know that some of these scenes will be shown. In the past, some of these scenes are censored and tame in nature, however, this pales in comparison on what our current media is showing. These media are showing scenes that is inappropriate. Since information is spreading through the internet, it's very likely that atleast one inappropriate content is on a platform. Also, many young people use the internet and is exposed to these scenes. Because of this, imitation of these scenes will occur.

>How do we avoid this?

We have made measures to prevent showing explicit scenes like:
  • Giving Ratings
  • Censorship Laws
  • Age Restrictions

As a parent, you should monitor your child's activities so that they are not too exposed. As a student, you should know what is appropriate for you and be responsible about it.
